This month, take a DIY approach to imbibing with classes designed to hone your cocktail and wine savvy.

Trying to find the perfect tequila-based cocktail or cool white wine to sip away the summer with? Some of Midtown’s favorite drink spots have you covered with comprehensive, DIY classes ranging from cocktail making to wine pairings.


Whisky Sour with MargotWant to start summer off with a bourbon-soaked bang? Head to Bar Margot’s Barrel of Bourbon class.

Ration & Dram_Shaken or Stirred Cocktail Class_Kysha Cyrus_Andy Minchow-1Ration & Dram’s co-owner, Andy Minchow, and bar manager, Kysha Cyrus, teach guests the necessary tools, spirits and tips for making a great cocktail at their monthly Shaken or Stirred cocktail class.

THE DETAILS: Each month, this eatery hosts its Shaken or Stirred class to teach guests all they need to know about the tools and spirits that make a great cocktail. And with days of summer on the horizon, Andy Minchow, Ration & Dram’s co-owner and cocktail guru, will be teaching participants how to mix up perfect poolside sips, like the Zombie or Painkiller. WHEN: June 18, 2-4 p.m.
COST: $59 for two (includes cocktail and food instruction, one drink and plate of food per person and a takeaway with recipe cards)

THE DETAILS: Get more bang for your girls’, guys’ or date night buck by learning how to mix a party-perfect spiked punch. You’ll receive a take-home treat of oleo-saccharum (a citrusy syrup) and a BBQ spice rub. Participants who stay after class will get a discount on a second round of food and drinks.
